Ben Neuman studied Business Administration at George Fox University in Newberg, OR. He became interested in renewable energy with an emphasis in Solar in 2006. Taking on an entry level position as a solar installer, Ben quickly advanced from installer to a Senior Lead Solar Installer. Paving his way to Project Manager to Operations Manager and eventually Director of Operations. Ben has managed individuals and teams from estimating to installing PV systems. In 2012 Ben completed the Sunpower Advanced Design and Advanced Installation Certifications. He then procured his C-10 Electrical Contractors License in 2014. Ben is dedicated to Homegrown Energy Solutions LLC and to bringing their client the power of solar to their homes or businesses.
VP Scott Wetzler – Construction and Supply Chain earned his BS- Business Administration degree from the University of North Carolina- Wilmington. After graduation, he moved to San Diego California and was introduced to PV solar systems. Scott quickly took an interest in solar and enrolled into a 1 year PV design and installation course at the San Juan College in New Mexico. In 2006 Scott started his fist job for a local solar contractor working in the field as a solar installer. Traveling throughout Southern California he worked on several large commercial projects and many residential systems. In 2009, Scott was accredited as a certified PV installer and NABCEP member. Soon, he was working in the office managing departments, holding positions such as; design manager, operations manager, and project manager. Scott has over ten years of hands on experience designing, permitting and installing PV systems, and is currently the VP of Construction and Supply Chain responsible for product approval, procurement and quality control for all installations and construction activity. Scott is licensed in the State of California as a Solar Contractor and holds a C46 contractors license.
Jane Elliot-Hughes, VP, Business Operations earned a BA from the University of Notre Dame and went on to earn her MBA from the University of California at Irvine. As a versatile business leader Jane has experienced various industries and roles throughout her career. With a background in the services industry Jane felt that there was an opportunity to crossover to the solar energy workforce in 2013. She is recognized as a go-to leader for key projects and initiatives at Homegrown Energy Solutions LLC. Jane’s key strengths is her ability to communicate, direct and efficiently balance resources and work load. She has experience wearing multiple hats when it comes to being a business owner.
